Boost privacy and data integrity with Metadata Permissions πŸ€–

Laura avatar
Shared by Laura β€’ October 18, 2023

Hi there!

With our new Metadata Permissions capability, it's now possible to configure who can see and edit custom metadata properties. You can now ensure that each user is seeing what they need to see. πŸ™Œ

Library owners have more control over who can fill in specific metadata properties; meanwhile, contributors and creators know where they have to provide more content and don't see properties that they cannot (or should not) fill out.

Read more about our Metadata Permissions in this help article.

New features πŸ†•β€¨

The following new feature was released to enhance your experience:

  • Libraries: Asset alt text for library backend
We have added an alt text for assets in the library backend. The alt text is taken from the name of the asset.
  • Guidelines: Asset Kit block supports download on public guidelines
The popular asset kit blocks now support asset bulk download from public guidelines without any user restrictions.
  • Integration: Contentful
We have revamped our Contentful integration, adding more functionalities to the oldest integration. While seamlessly searching, locating, and selecting Frontify on-brand assets directly in the Contentful environment, you can also access more asset properties, such as focal points, metadata, and tags. Get more information here.

Improvements πŸ› οΈ

This week, we crushed these bugs to give you a better experience:

  • Platform: The aria-label is now available for the link in the power bar, where you can define the status of an asset.
  • Libraries: A copyright notice containing no real text but just spaces was required to be accepted to download an asset. Data has been cleaned, and it's now impossible to create new cases with this issue.
  • Libraries: We streamlined an error message when trying to upload multiple blocked extensions.
  • Guidelines: Adding assets to the Thumbnail Grid block no longer causes overrides and multiple asset additions.
