What's new in January, 2026

Welcome to the first release roundup of the year!
​January brings a set of updates focused on tighter product and asset alignment, more flexibility in the DAM, and better visibility across your ecosystem.

Akeneo PIM integration: Connect product data with your brand asset
Keep product information and brand assets perfectly in sync. The new Akeneo PIM integration creates a bi-directional connection between Akeneo and Frontify, allowing teams to sync product data, metadata, and approved assets across both systems.

• Real-time asset transformations in the DAM
  Download images in the file formats you need, instantly and without creating duplicates. We've expanded our asset transformations capabilities, letting you convert single images into formats like JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, and HEIF through a new unified download flow.

  Admins now have clear visibility into CDN bandwidth usage directly in Frontify. Monitor total consumption, analyze daily trends, and review usage by brand and timeframe.

• Expand image with AI
  Extend images beyond their original borders using Generative AI. This new app helps teams adapt a single image to multiple formats while preserving focal points and visual consistency.

  The Symphony metadata schema duplicator lets you copy and align metadata fields and entire across libraries, with automated comparison and safe merging. Create, migrate, and maintain libraries faster while strengthening governance across your DAM.

• Watermark and trace assets directly in Frontify with Steg.ai (Beta)
  The Steg.ai watermarking app is now available for select customers. Watermark single or multiple assets and trace reused or transformed images back to their source, all while preserving originals through versioning.

Bug fix corner

• Finder: A clear indicator now shows up in asset chooser cards when assets are greyed out due to download protection, reducing confusion during selection.
